@Tom But then why do I have a similar issue as I described on my KEY2? That can't be a coincedence...

Nope, it's the cover. I actually caught it once by accidentally looking at the external screen. It happily keeps on receiving taps while the device is open. If you hold the device so you can type with your thumbs (i.e., no flat surface nearby) this is inevitable. Poor design, I assume there will be an option at some point to disable this behavior.

Can confirm.  I had similar issues.  After hearing about it on this forum, I had a look at the CoDi while the device was open.  Even while it displays the Planet logo it will happily let you swipe-left or swipe-down and poke icons from the menus.

This happens quite naturally while you hold the thing to type on the keyboard with your thumbs.  Your fingers naturally touch the screen and swipe it.

Especially if you have a Cosmo like mine where the hinge is loose while the Cosmo is open, making the top flap in the wind a bit.

If you haven't done so already, take a moment to report it on the Cosmo Reporting thing: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/cc92fc88e...923c419ad9321b2
Hopefully @PC will address it after a number of people raise attention to it.

I am using this thread because this post is related to the content discussed here -- it remains a lot to do in order to have a more or less pleasant experience with codi. After the last update, their remains icons which do not behave correctly and some which have to be improved. My wish-list to the devs:

- better handling of the localization symbol on codi -- with my cosmo and the last update, my localization symbol is 'off' all the time no matter what I am doing, even if it is actually 'on' when I open my cosmo; this might be related to a problem regarding the actualization/refresing of the symbol on codi, and prevent me to use the gps with my cosmo closed (nothing shows up on codi, only the voice of the gps)

- better handling of default applications: particularly with media players, it is impossible to use the buttons back/forward/pause/play if you are using another media player than what google provides

- less sensitivity of symbols functions: would prevent to activate airplane mode for example just by putting your cosmo into your pocket -- something like a longer press should do the trick

- some functions are not useful -- when you get an email or a whatsapp message, you can see it on codi which is good, but you can not answer the message with the case closed, you have to open it -- so, remove this function from codi; the same for the function enabling the 'mark as read' or 'remove', which do not mark messages as read or remove them

These would be the minimum to do in order to make codi more usable.

On mine, the back/forward/pause/play functions work in 2 of my 3 music apps. (works for TuneIn and PowerAmp but not for DBB2)

However, none of my apps show up in the CoDi player's list of apps that appears when you swipe in from the left.  Only Google Music, which I don't use, shows there.

I'd be happy if PlanetC would allow us to customize this list ourselves (in CoDi Assistant, perhaps?) or just update their list of apps to include the ones the community is asking for.
(I have filed support requests for this already)

I would be happy if PlanetC would make it so that touch-screen input is disabled when the "Planet" logo is showing.  This seems to be the cause of all the unintended actions like accidentally turning off 4G, WiFi, Location Services, etc.

Sometimes my CoDi does not lock after I close the device, but I always push the silver button (locks CoDi and turns the screen off) before I put it in a pocket.  I have not ever had a problem with accidental actions while the screen is locked or off.

Although the screen does wake up for just about any notification, which is annoying.  E.g. if the weather changes, if my battery level changes (I have GSamBattery with a persistent notification displaying battery level and temp, estimated run time) or if I've taken steps and my step counter increments.

I'd be happy if PlanetC can determine which notifications are persistent notifications and not wake the screen up for changes to those.

i disagree with email at least. i use the delete function from gmail from the cover display all the time. very useful.

Then it is inconsistent behaviour, because I can't get email removed from codi on my google email app., and it is just the same with airmail. The functions for codi should scale for every kind of app you want to install on the cosmo which codi would handle. You can not have some functions working with some app., not working with other ones, or working with some cosmo and not for other ones.
