Cover LED indicators and Ledison
« on: February 04, 2020, 09:02:58 am »
Is there any official word on what the different LEDs on the cover mean?

There are three LEDs.

From thread https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=35920 I could find the list of colors on the single LED near camera (thanks, PJS!)

From what I've seen, here's what I've been able to tell the LED indicates:

 - purple            = the Cosmo is on wifi
 - blue              = the wifi hotspot is on
 - flashing yellow   = missed call
 - green (on power)  = the Cosmo is fully charged
 - yellow (on power) = the Cosmo is charging

Anyway, does anyone know more, or an official source?

Also: What are the colors of the fingerprint sensor LEDs?

I've noticed some patterns, like

- 2x blue = unlocked
- 2x red = locked

But nothing conclusive.

Also, I've tested out the LEDison app. I couldn't really see the effect. I tried a really simple app notification: Gmail with a specific pattern and sent myself a test message. Anyone else got Ledison working?

I messed around with Ledison as well but never got anything working. Seems odd that they would include the program if they were thinking there was no use for it on the Cosmo.

I was personally hoping it would put up some fake LEDs on the OLED outer screen. I have a harder time seeing the little notification dot at the bottom and discerning which app the notification is for. A quick "morse code" of dots for different notifications would have been fun (and maybe even useful!)

Didn't you forget to turn Use LEDison patterns on cover display option in Cosmo Settings on to make LEDison patterns work?

The correct legend of covers LEDs seems to be:

Top one:
- Red: Mobile network is not available
- Purple blinking: Mobile data is not available

Bottom one:
- Red: On charge
- Yellow: On charge, almost charged
- Green: On charge, fully charged
- Yellow blinking: Missed call

Fingerprint scanner:
- Both red: Device is locked
- Both blue: Device is unlocked, both buttons functional.
- Left one is green, right one is red: incoming call, press left to answer, right to reject.
- Left and right blink in turn: media playing

I noticed something potentially more problematic than the individual led colors.

It seems that "charging" indication (yellow or green light) has priority over "missed calls" (blinking light).

When Cosmo is on my desk, I usually stick it in the charger. Anyway, went away for a while, came back. LED was steady green, indicating full charge.

Took charger off...LED started blinking. Turned out someone had tried to reach me.

This is something that probably should be addressed by Planet - the priority of different signals coming off the LED. Missed calls should always trump something so trivial as charging status...

For me it's

Sorry. It was just a typo. Fixed.

Not sure if you're referring to me but yes, the option was/is turned on in settings. LEDison does nothing on the Cosmo, at least for now.
