eSIM as default SIM not being remembered across reboot

I am using eSIM and a normal SIM. I want to have the eSIM as default for data, calls and SMS. Cosmo keeps asking me after every reboot to pick a default sim.

Is there anybody with the same setup who either gets the same problem or for whom it works ok? It is annoying since data does not work after a reboot.

I cannot switch the sims as the operator of my physical SIM will not give me an eSIM.

I am on the latest firmware, but I am not sure if I still do not suffer from something that was presumed to be fixed, i.e. this from the release notes:
4. The eSIM chip status is now fixed after Cosmo restart, so eSIM selection is preserved (instead of switching to SIM lost 2)

I couldn't get eSIM to work at all.... at least not with a (dutch) Simyo contract, I've tried yesterday, couldn't get data (or calls for that matter) to work. Cosmo may not be compatible to their eSIM card... don't know.

Best and easiest alternative is this so you can use 2 SIMs and an SD card simultaneously (I'm using a 256 gb card): https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=36133

What provider do you have, and in which country? What exactly did you do to get it working?
