Broken screen + opie calibrate = problem
« on: November 11, 2003, 01:35:09 am »
I recently bought a 5000d on ebay knowing that it had a broken screen. It was working just fine and it came with OZ 3.1 on it. I decided to flash it to 3.2 to see if I could get the IR port to work right. Anyway now it wants me to calibrate the screen. Well this is a problem seeing as the touch screen no longer works. Is there anything I can do to skip the calibration screen or just boot into text mode and edit a config file. Any info on this would be helpful.

Thanks,
Ryan

Is there a way to stop the boot process of 3.2 at a command prompt?  Assume that not everyone has a way to remote connect from another computer, so I\'m looking for a solution that requires nothing more than the 5x00 with non-working touchpanel.

Not without altering the ROM (changing entries in /etc/rcX.d/) before you flash it (or afterwards, but you can\'t do that without ssh if your touch screen doesn\'t work, etc.)
