Cosmo in endless boot cycle when open
« on: August 03, 2021, 05:30:45 pm »
Hi - My Cosmo got stuck in an endless boot cycle while opened. I don't get further than authenticating via fingerprint or entering pin code. It will reboot immediately once authenticated.
The device gets stuck in a cycle that never goes further than the Planet logo while booting open.
Has anybody experienced similar and perhaps found a way to end the cycle?
Interesting is that it will do a full boot while closed and then the device is then visible on a Windows 10 device via USB-C. Not sure if it can the be accessed via a shell / ...

Cheers
Robert

What operating system are you running?  Android?
After it has booted fully when closed, can you then open it and use it, or does it go back into a loop when opened?
If you can boot it closed and see it on your PC via USB, it may be an idea to try to backup what you can now, (photos, docs, contacts), in case it gets worse or needs resetting.

Yes- Running Android. It goes back in a boot loop after about 5-10 seconds after opening it.

I tried accessing the unit via USB but it does not pick up in Win 10. Do you have a suggestion on how to make it (force it) to become accessible via USB?

Cheers

I would suggest a factory reset to the phone. Get Android SDK from Google.

Check if you can boot to recovery and/or fastboot mode (Vol-up (the rocker switch) + power on).

If you can, the fastest way to factory reset is probably to say fastboot unlock and reboot the phone. Unlocking wipes all data from phone. If this fixes issue, you can then re-lock the flash drive afterwards.
