AJZaurus and sl6000
« on: May 03, 2004, 12:49:27 am »
I can connect my 5600 to my OSX 10.3 mac using the cradle and AJZaurusUSB.  But when I try the 6000, nothing.  Has anyone done this?

Just got an SL-6000 yesterday and found I had similar problems (cradle doesn\'t connect).  I have now abandoned the cradle and am going the wireless route.  I had to find a PC to load the Terminal program so I could make the changes to allow telnet sessions to work.  Now I am working on an smb connection -- still having problems there, though.

Don\'t know what the problem with the cradle is.

Did you try to contact the author of AJZaurusUSB? He might be interested in learning about this issue.

Edit the file....

    /System/Library/Extensions/AJZaurusUSB.kext/Contents/Info.plist

Search for Zaurus and find the entries for various models.

Add the following entry for the SL-6000

                <key>Zaurus SL-6000</key>
                <dict>
                        <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
                        <string>org.lucidcake.driver.AJZaurusUSB</string>
                        <key>IOClass</key>
                        <string>org_lucidcake_driver_AJZaurusUSB</string>
                        <key>IOProviderClass</key>
                        <string>IOUSBDevice</string>
                        <key>idProduct</key>
                        <integer>36914</integer>
                        <key>idVendor</key>
                        <integer>1245</integer>
                </dict>

Restart the mac.
Put the sl6000 into the holder.
Turn it on and then plug it in.
Follow the AJZaurus directions as for 5x00.
