Conflict BlueZ with my CF modem
« on: May 04, 2004, 11:20:17 am »
Hi,
I used CF modem with my Zaurus without problem until installed BlueZ for my CF Socket bluetooth card (bluez-csr-serial and bluez-zaurus). Now I cannot use my CF modem - I get \"CF card type serial device is busy\". Socket CF bluetooth (G version) works without problems. I uninstalled BlueZ and CF modem started to work again. Can anybody help to fix it? Thanks in advance.

You need to look at the output from the command \'cardctl ident\' with your CF modem in your Zaurus and make sure the text from the product info line does not appear in /etc/pcmcia/bluetooth.conf .

I\'ve checked it yet. There is no entries about my card in bluetooth.conf. Also I checked /etc/pcmcia/config My modem is identified as \"Serial or Modem\"  bind \"serial_cs\". I installed bluez-csr-serial.0.1 package. Is it possible that the standard serial settings were replaced by this package? Also /etc/pcmcia/serial looks like work with bluetooth...

Which Zaurus do you have and which ROM do you have installed?

The bluez-csr-serial package does replace the /etc/pcmcia/serial script, but it uses the standard Sharp script and just adds a bit so that if a recognised serial Bluetooth CF card is inserted then some extra commands are executed. It shouldn\'t do anything different if a non-bluetooth card is inserted. Uninstalling the bluez-csr-serial package should restore your original /etc/pcmcia/serial script BTW.

I uninstalled bluez-csr-serial, copied standard script to other place, installed bluez-csr-serial again and replaced bluez script by the standard one. Modem works!

But now your Socket Bluetooth card will not work. I\'ve tried adding the /etc/pcmcia/serial functionality into /etc/pcmcia/bluetooth (that\'s what\'s in the 2.3-2.4.18e bluez packages in the ZUG downloads), but without a Socket Rev G card I could not debug it and no one else has managed to fix this. Hence I was left with this nasty hack.

So which Zaurus and ROM do you have?

There\'s a link in this thread.  The serial_cs.o file is bundled up with some GPRS scripts.
