File.Desktop???

hey well im new to zaurus but when i use qtopia 1.7 to sync with OZ 3.2 every file i have has it and makes a smaler file with a .desktop ending? what is this file and do i need it (i deleted a few with no side effects) and if its not needed how do i get it to stop making those?

(Ps: oz 32 and qtopia 1.7 are hte only os/syncing porgrams ive used)

With OZ (and the older 2.x ROMs), a .desktop file is created whenever you sync and generally put a file on a SD/CF card or in /home/root/Documents. This is done so that it shows up in the Documents tab.

The latest Sharp ROMs have done away with the Documents tab and replaced it with more of a file browser.
