Samba server in the c860
« on: May 14, 2004, 01:00:19 pm »
Does any know where I can find out more about the operation and using the \"Samba Server\" built into the c860?  I can link my c860 with the \"advance tcp/ip\" option, sync, transfer files, etc.  It does list a ip adress.  everything is fine that way.  I can\'t \"see\" the c860 from the desktop \"network neighborhood\".  I have the stock rom having just bought the c860 and am running Win2000 on the desktop. Thanks...Steve

Have you been to \"View All Network\" - the workgroup for the default samba connection is WORKGROUP, this is set in /root/usr/lib/samba/smb.conf

try clicking Start-Run then type 192.168.129.201 (if that is the IP of the Z) and then OK.  See if \"home\" pops up in an explorer window on the PC.  then click on \"home\" and you should see your data on the Z.  This is what I had to do to find the 860 on my network.
