Future possiblities?

This is more of a debate topic. Do you think that PDA\'s such as the Zaurus will ever be as powerful as mainstream computers? If only the Zaurus could run the upcoming World of Warcraft (a man can dream, can\'t he), then I would be exceedingly happy. Anyway, random ramblings are over for now.

I would put it this way.  PDAs of today will always be the equivalent of the computers from 4 years ago... but the computers form 4 years ago are now fast enough to do the things we need today.  In other words, I think that some PDAs, although 4 years behind the desktops, are fast enough and powerful enough to BECOME you new laptop/desktop.   See http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...iewtopic&t=4281

There\'s an inverse law between size and power consumption vs capability.  If you want your PDA with an Athlon64 and a gig of RAM and a 120 gig disk drive it could be built today, but then you would have to lug around a brick that works for 10 minutes on battery power.

It\'s amazing to see how those ideas are propagating in minds. I call them \'mind virus\'.

There is a term for an idea as a mind virus..... its called a meme like a gene but a meme....... there is a substantial body of literature behind this idea.... it is all very interesting... just thought you would be curious.

Update:
Aha, now that i have read the rest of the thread it appears that someone had already led you to the meme meme.

Me? Curious?
Yes it\'s my first name!

I eye the definition intently. As I said, it is very interesting. It\'s interesting to see that what you understand of life is already processed by other (not always, not always completely but enough to begin something or to light the way).

It reminds me my first and only big fear I had 10 months ago: a lot of French people from Paris have begun to work on left side of the pavement and was forcing people to follow their new \'highway code\' in the wall town. Everyone have begun to follow those new rules. Asking this to my girl friend, she has noticed the difference. Two months later, she wasn\'t remembering anything and were walking on the left too, saying that it was normal (\"Why do you want to walk on the right?\"). It remembers me an experience with mouse and a new product that help them to have better memory (perhaps you have seen it on TV).
Have you ever see those kind of movies? The TV serie \"V\" for exemple . Amazing to be into the real stream.

Today, there is always confusion in people mine and most time it degenerates in a big mess. Move on pavement is still difficult but slalom help . People forcing the old right side or left side are not a lot (half-and-half). Before reading the Internet dico, I was calling them \'coders\'.

Note 1: Was it a \"meme test in vivo\"? I don\'t know. But it was frightening.

Note 2: What I\'m saying shoudn\'t hurt En/US. On a road your cars run on the left. You are already altered  (jocking).

Walking on the left hand side of the pavement? Or on the left hand side of the road (e.g. one side for one direction, one for the other - I doubt this would happen to tell the truth).

I thought this walking on the left was done to make sure you don\'t clonk your sword on someone else\'s (or just on someone else for that matter) - presuming you\'re Japanese that is ;-).

Walking on the same side of the pavement and sharing it (same thing on the other pavement).
On the same pavement, it was like this:

<-----
----->

than it becomes like this
----->
<-----

And now
<-->-<-
>--<-->-

It\'s like throwing a stone in watter. Today, you can still see the wave. Even if it is shading off.

There are already some cool things you can do with the Z

Like running your fav. dvd on your lsptop and streaming it to you Z wirelessly!

I already got this working...I get sound and half a screen of pictures.  I know it is something to do with the configuration to get it to understand the res. of Z to get full pic.
