Upgrade Synch problem for sl-5500 v3

Ok I am now shocked and awe...I was once a happy Zaurus person until I decided to upgrade to ROM 3.10..My life as I knew it b4 is now gone I am past confuse and heading straight to Dazed and mad...
Problem: Synching Outlook with WIN 2k ...

I finally was able to upgrade to ROM 3.10, I had to use the OSPACK version and CF Card to get it to work. That was interesting...I now have Embedix Plus Version 2.0, Opera 6.0, Qtopia Embedix Plus Version 1.5.4, Linux Kernal 2.4.18-RMK7 with ROM 3.10....whew... Synching is NOT happening...I tried everything, re-installing the software, messing with the Synch options...I need advice on what to do ..I see a quick message saying something about updating on the Z...then I just get Connection Error...I am using the Synch from Sharp web site, it is different than the version I had...It is now 3 weeks since my last synch of my PDA and I would like to get back to a normal life and get my contact information back on my PDA...Help Plz

Did you upgrade Intellisynch on the Windows side?

As far as I know I did...it says it is Zaurus Mgr 3.1...is this correct??

Is there something I was suppose to do to Windows? some type of networking configuration...??..Right now I am at a lost...I can only re-install the thing so many times b4 I give up...I am not sure if I can back...

When I upgraded to 3.1, I downloaded the software from Sharp.  The first step was to install the 3.1 ROM on the Z from Windows, using the cradle.  Then I installed the upgraded PC software.  I never had a problem.

Yea I did that too, i thought it was going to work...Now I did mess the Networking feature in the new format... thinking I had to do something there like on the old Z format...I will delete that connection on Z and see what happens...I cannot believe i am the only 1 that is having this problem...everything else seems to work, SD, CF, MMC and Word, PPT, Spreadsheet, Pocketop and finally TKCard...

Ok I cleaned up the Networking screen...no chge....it appears I am dead on synching with Outlook, I never really used Outlook since I am not in the office, I had backed up everything to Outlook to do the upgrade...and since the backup on the CF will not restore into the 3.10 format...(True?) I am stuck....If anyone has any other ideas...please advise....I will be around..I will be inputing 3k contact information into my PDA....so this will take awhile....its a sad day :]( I should have left it alone, there was nothing wrong with it b4....

i agree this is horrible i have tried many many many different ways of upgrading 3.10 to 3.13

and man this is ffocked

i lost count of how many times i reset my zaurus trying to get this to work
i\'ve pluggede an unplugged the usb cable enough times to think my computer think i was gettin friendly

no one seems to say what versions of software it needs to cooperate

like for instance i can transfer as many files as i want right now back and forth left to right

but guess what...............of course......................the upgrade software wont even connect

Don\'t have the problem myself, but I\'ve read on a few occations, that it is best to completely uninstall the old zaurus PC software before installing the new stuff.

Might make a diffference...

 Well I am still re-typing my contact list into the Z using my pocketop keyboard. I have about 300 to go and I have not thrown it against the wall...I like the new format of V3 upgrade. But I notice something I have not noticed b4. It seems, I cannot prove it, that the applications are running a little bit slower whne opening. I have not figured that out, it maybe me noticing it since I am using it quite a bit.

I will say this,  if anyone ever get the TKCCARD software, that rocks. I have made many different database files for different things and I just finished moving my 400+ restraurant list from Outlook into it. I really like the form of that software...well worth the investment. I have NOT figured out how to unload it for others to use...it would be nice to do that, similar to what Palm  (PDB)has...if anyone got ideas on this that would be great....

Here is my final question....will I be able to continue to upgrade my ROM in the future for future enhancements or am I forced to buy another Z?
