Update to C860 e-mail client!?
« on: June 02, 2004, 08:19:11 am »
Hi!

At this link:
http://support.ezaurus.com/sl-c860/menu-slc860.asp

It mentions an update to the C860 mail client(mouse over the top link and look at the info at the bottom of your browser).

If you follow the link, there is an ipk for download, entitled as below:

\"qpe-mail_C860-RW-2.41_arm.ipki–ñ402KBj\"

Has anybody ever applied pathces/updates on their english, Cacko ROM\'s from Sharp? Would this work on a C860 with Cacko 1.21 + hotfix installed?

Can one of our Japanese-knowledge-able friends do a little translation to see if there are any cool features that were added?

Cheers!!

This update is intended for people who are using the Zaurus SL-C860 with the original Japanese ROM 1.10-1.30. It addresses a problem receiving email for those who connect to the Internet using Sony Communications Network Company\'s ISP So-net. Unless you live in Japan and are using So-net as your ISP, then this update does not apply to you.

Oh, Ok thanks jagrka.

What a pity, I wonder if there are ever any patches that just adds functionality?

Still the question if it will work with Cacko then...

It will work with Cacko as Cacko is just the Sharp rom with the Japanese translations files and dictionary removed and a bunch of extra goodies added. Deep down inside it still the same qtopia version.
