I know this was already poseted.  But just so that peaple know.  Sharp\'s devnet site is backup.  Just add

208.40.197.252 zaurus.com www.zaurus.com community.zaurus.com docs.zaurus.com

to your hosts file.  Dns sould be back up over the weekend.

JP

P.S.  I still think ZUG is better.  And also thx tblumer for posting the ip addr.

Well the Sharp Devnet Forums may well be back, but I don\'t really want to have to check two sites, so I\'ll probably stick with these forums, unless support within them seems to dwindle. I wonder if most people will return to the Sharp Site now that it\'s back?

Just thought I\'d take a look at the devnet and it seems to have disappeared again.

Very strange.

This is crap, its up and down like a pair of knickers, we should vote with our feet (or mouse clicks) and boycott it. To hell with it! Rebel! Riot!  I have the Springfield mob mentality, I want to tip something over and watch it burn!
Left Linux and Linux PDAs... sorry, got boring.  Switched to Mac.

We\'re checking on the down site with the colo center. I agree with you all that the ZUG is the place to go for community cooperation. The Zaurus.com site is not intended to compete with ZUG, but will hopefully provide the downloads of source code, ROMs, etc. that everyone needs.

I ask then, why does it need a forum, wouldent it serve the comunity best to just link to the Zug forums?

I can\'t say I agree there, I think devnet is important to some people.  It\'s things like manufacturer supported development communities that big biz likes to see.  Devnet would also make a safe place for authorized developers to get assistance with proprietary sharp code, like address book stuff.

like Sharp anytime in the past gave any wee-bit of assistance with its own proprietary Sharp code like address book stuff ???

Have you ever tried to get some piece of clueless management to approve you developing on a cool new piece of hardware.  A few half supported sites and some screenshots go a long way.

Not to mention sharp may have been useless in the past but if we all ever want to make the Zaurus a influential system in the US and Europe then we really need to back sharp up ware ever it may be helpful.

Sharp may have abandoned us in the past but with hardware as cool as the Z do we really want to, or can we afford to stoop to there level and abandon them?
