Microdrive / Compact Flash power consumption in suspend?
« on: June 09, 2004, 08:50:13 am »
Hi,

I would like to know if you can power down a CF card / microdrive by software - i assume something using cardctl or something. What is the power drain in this situation? Would i notice a CF card in general sitting in my Z in terms of battery life?

It\'s easy to remove the SD card, but i put my brothers 340 meg microdrive card in and i found it very difficult to remove without removing the pdair case first.
Gorgeous C860, 256 Sandisk SD, 1Gig Pretec 40x CF, PDAIR leather case & the really cool retractable iPDA USB sync/charge cable. Powered by PDAXROM BETA 1.

My wish - to have a Command & Conquer style game on my Z! (FREECNC!!!) Simcity 2000 would also be great.

using cardctl you can eject insert a card, cardctl --help.
you can also do this using the applet on the bar if I rember well.

My guess is as  Cf and sd card are solid memory for micro drive i don\'t know, they wont drain power unless they are accessed.
