I installed Opera 7.30 onto my Zaurus SL-C760 (standard Sharp ROM) yesterday from the feed area of this web site:
http://www.zaurususergroup.com/feed/opera_...30.9965_arm.ipkhttp://www.zaurususergroup.com/feed/opera-...ix_7.30_arm.ipkand had the same problem with bookmarks disappearing. The ownership of the
/home/zaurus/.operafolder and the files in it had to be changed in the Terminal to:
su rootchown -R zaurus.qpe .operaexitI then edited the
/home/zaurus/.opera/opera.inifile to change all of the, "
root", strings to, "
zaurus". Someone else in a different post said that simply deleteing the, ".opera", directory solved their problem, because Opera would then recreate the directory.
Opera is a fast and very standards-compatible web browser. I find that I am unable to use Ameritrade with the NetFront v3.0 browser that came with my Zaurus SL-C760, but I am able to use Ameritrade with Opera v7.30. I visited the
http://www.opera.com web site yesterday and purchased a license for the Windows and Linux version of the Opera web browser. They have a promotional offer where you can license a Linux version of the Opera browser for $10 extra if you license the Windows version for $39. I wanted to support their efforts and show that I appreciate their work with the closest thing to purchasing a license for the Zaurus version of Opera, since they do not explicitly sell licenses for the Zaurus versions of Opera on their web site.
