Syncing with the web, small Dbase back-end
« on: July 07, 2004, 02:48:48 am »
There needs to be..........

A synchronization app for Yahoo calendar and address book. THis way Z users could keep their info up to date on the web without and act of God. Yahoo calendar and address books are free, widely popular and are certainly highly functional and reliable.

Then when people begin using the Linux mobile OS and PIMs more frequently, Someone could create an open platform database for PIM apps (one that everyone agrees to use and develop PIMs on). There just does not seem to be a small relational Dbase that is simple to use and integrate into PIM apps. All this proprietary crap..............arrrrgh.

The Zaurus can already sync to Yahoo!

You need to download "Intellisync for Yahoo!" from either the Calendar or Address Book on Yahoo!.  When you run this version of Intellisync, if you have the Zaurus Intellisync already installed, you will see Zaurus as a "translator" when you select a PIM app, then click the "Choose" button.

Note that Yahoo! does not show up as an option in the Zaurus version of Intellisync.
