Rotation on the fly + Hancom Mobile sheet
« on: July 08, 2004, 05:37:48 pm »
I was wondering if rotation on the fly was possible in any rom that can also run hancommobilesheet. I have tryed the hybrid rom and although I can install hancommobilesheet it never runs.

I'm assuming your trying to do this with a 5500?  I'm running the cacko rom on my 760 and it works fine.  I haven't tried this recently on my 5500 to see if I get the same issue.
Search the OESF Wiki
C1000 w/Cacko 1.23 beta (from Streamline) / 760 pdaxrom rc9 / 6000L (thanks Santa's elf!) / 5500 - OZ 3.3.5 / SIMpad SL4
1GB, 256mb SanDisk CF / 2x 1GB, 512mb, 256mb, 128mb SanDisk SD
Ambicom WL100C-CF wifi / Socket 56k CF modem / AmbiCom BT2000-CF (x2)
Pocketop keyboard, Piel Frama case (1000 & 5500), PDAir case (760 & 1000)

I dont know what happened with my answer so it is again here.

I am using sl-5500 and I want screen rotation on the fly with hancom software and some kind of wireless networking.

Thanks,

Luis

I'm having the same problem. I think the answer to this might be in the Hybrid ROM issues note
"- quickexec apps only work when installed to root or to the same path as Qtopia base.   Easy to fix - add a link to quickexec
"
At the moment I have HancomSheet on SD and Qtopia on the jffs2 partition. I dont know if sheet is a quickexec app.

BTW, Have you got the rotation working ok with the Hybrid ROM?
I installed the rotation ipk but the program names were missing after rotation.
So I installed a rotation fonts ipk I used with a previously, but the namess are shown like mirror writing.

Also Jeode dosen't work because of missing libs, but hopefully I can link or track these down somewhere

I would like to stick with this ROM, as it is the best I have tried

I finally found that the applications do not run because missing symbols in qtopia libs (the symbols that sharp added).
Install the qt-embedded-fonts that come with qtopia 1.6 to get rotation work.

Hybrid Rom
Yes, a thread would be helpful.  I'm trying it again.
So far everything I tried seems to work, but I only reflashed this evening.
RE rotation,  try
qt-embedded-rotation_2.3.2-4_arm.ipk
and
qt-embedded-rotation-fix_2.3.2-4_arm.ipk
I think you need both (Just the fix writes everything like you were looking in a mirror   )

Hancom?  Installs but says app not found.  I guess I need to figure out  sym links.

A REAL problem though, seems to be the package installer.  It only lets you install to "internal 5" which quickly maxes out.  There doesn't ever seem to be an option to install to ram

Update...the SD card wasn't mounted.  I've now formatted + mounted it and I can install stuff to SD and CF.  But Ram?
Also, with hancom apps. it still says it can't find it - but neither can I which makes playing with links a tad difficult.

I have just installed hybrid (the one with qutopia on internal) on a 5500.
If anybody ever figures out the Hancom, or why jeode doesn't work issues, I would appreciate the info. I like this rom even wiyhout those two. Neither are a deal breaker,  but if I can, I would rather have them.
