ZUG at the SF Linux World Expo...
« on: July 09, 2004, 03:22:04 pm »
We have the opportunity to have a booth in the "User Groups" section at this year's LWE in San Francisco.  Several of the area LUGs will be there, so I'm worndering if we have have a ZUG presence there?

I'm already working on the details for a booth for the LUG I'm involved in, so it wouldn't take much for me to setup a ZUG booth.   I'm already taking the time off work, so I'll be there anyways, and I would prefer to man the ZUG booth.

I think this could be a great chance for us to have fun with our Zaurii, and show others what they are about.

The event is less than a month away, so if there are any ZUG members that would like to help man the booth, or help out in other ways, please respond quickly!

I've been thinking of a couple things that we could possibly have at a ZUG booth:

- a banner
- cards (for people to take away)
- presentation materials (who knows what this could be)

So, if you are at all interersted, or have any suggestions for what we could/should do, please let me know!

Really wish that I could manage to participate, ORG. Give us a series of ZUG updates from the floor, if you can.

Are these two separate, unrelated problems?

Ducking and running...

I'd love to go, but you see I'm on the right coast (sort of), and you are way off on the left coast...

hm...

my plans for early August:

* 7/23-7/30 visiting with friends and Moms in SF, Berkeley, Antiioch
* 7/31 wedding in Orinda (east of Berkeley)
* 8/2 - 8/5 honeymoon in Martha's Vineyard, MA

maybe I can convince my fiancee that she'd REALLY have a better time, hanging out   with Linux Freaks and Zaurii, while staying at her mom's place

uh huh. sure!

Unfortunately I didn't plan for this far enough in advance for this year.  So we will not have a ZUG presence at the UG booth, but I will still be there with my local LUG (BALUG).

That said, know I have a contact with the IDG/LWE people, so I will be able to plan early enough for next year.  Hopefully we could do something cool.

Also, if you happen to live in the Bay Area and want a free expo pass, I have a ton of free ones to give away.  Just email me with your address and I'll sent it immediately.

(unpinning topic)
