OZ 3.2 and Sharp camera
« on: July 14, 2004, 02:37:51 pm »
Hi,

I try to use the sharp camera on my SL-5500 flashed with OZ 3.2. It seems difficult to do this... I use the packages from Mickey Lauer (libopie2, sharp camera support and oipe camera for gcc2.95 ) but it failed when I insert the cam (unsupported device, sharpzdc_cs loaded ? and /dev/sharpzdc red/write are the errors I have). And I noticed the /dev/sharpzdc file does not exists on my Z...

Is anybody able to help me ?

Thanks in advance

Here is how I got the camera working with 3.2 You need to install the sharp-camera-support.ipk, this installs the driver and some other files. Go here and get it:
http://www.vanille.de/feed/openzaurus/armv4l-gcc2.95/old/
You also need to update your busybox. You can get it from here:
http://www.openzaurus.org/official/3.3.5/collie/ipks/
Get the big 201k file, not any of the little busybox-wget like things.
It displays an error while installing, but thats not a problem.
Then it works with Opie-Camera.

Good luck!

OZ 3.2 contains a broken busybox which creates only '0 0' device nodes. Copy another busybox binary over your old one and retry.

Short report :

The installation does not work. I think it is because I installed the new busybox before the other packages. During each package install I have errors messages (lot of error 127) and the install fail at the end.

I wil try again...

Bye

I think I may be having the same problem.  I am running OZ 3.2, and I first installed this:  sharp-camera-support_2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix-1_collie.ipk followed by this: qpe-camera-ja_1.5.0-8_arm.ipk.  Now from the commandline:

# pwd
/home/QtPalmtop/bin
# ./sq_camera

Loading of image 'camera/CameraN.png' is not ideal (either it doesn't exist or an extension was specified)

Loading of image 'opie-sh/opie-sh' is not ideal (either it doesn't exist or an extension was specified)

QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null
image
QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image

image
QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image
./sq_camera: error while loading shared libraries: ./sq_camera: undefined

[/font]

Am I having the same problem as described above?  I tried going to the openzaurus link, but it is no longer valid.  Any hints?

Thanks,
