a problem with installing OZ
« on: July 23, 2004, 07:25:39 pm »
things worked fine - i copied both files into CF card moved them to /mnt/cf

the leds flashed for about three minutes. then i do a restart and i see "SHARP" on the screen ...and nothing. it doesn't boot.  i even don't know if i can do anything - i do not have a separate CF reader. any suggestions what can be done?

I guess you forgot to rename the files to zImage and initrd.bin
You need a card reader, give the files the right name and flash again.

Hi,
sometimes I use my old 16MB Kodak CF card to flash oz. A card reader costs here in Germany between 10 and 20 Euros.
So it is not very expensive.

You need to use the older versions of the sync programs as OZ uses the XML file format rather than the new (and pretty much closed source) DTM databases.
