Open Zaurus fubar's my SL-C700 Screen
« on: August 03, 2004, 01:45:42 pm »
Greetings,

it seems that 3.3.5 and 3.6.1 both have  an issue with my screen... namely that it fubars the bottom 8th inch of screen.  I'm having a strip across the entire bottom of the screen that is blured.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Would this be a kernel issue? Probably best to try a mailing list search.

http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openzaurus-users (and if you can't find anything then consider posting to this one)
http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openzaurus-devel (but I wouldn't post to this one unless you're willing to fix the problem once you've been given an idea of what it might be)

what are the values of /proc/cccr_change and /proc/driver/w100/* ?

Sounds like you're overclocking your processor and/or display.

Mickeyl:

/proc/cccr_change = 0x00000242

/proc/driver/w100/fastsysclk = 100
/proc/driver/w100/lcd = LCD parm 0
/proc/driver/w100/read_reg = ??
/proc/driver/w100/write_reg = ??
/proc/driver/w100/rotation = Rotation degree 270

Thanks for the help.

Does 'echo 75 > /proc/driver/w100/fastsysclk' improve the situation ?

FYI

08:55:26) mickeyl: now just add that to one of the init.d scripts and it will be automatically done on every boot
(08:55:34) mickeyl: no, not really
(08:55:48) mickeyl: some c700 models have problems with the larger w100 sysclock
(08:55:54) mickeyl: s/larger/higher/
(08:56:05) cterry: hmm... goood to know.

(12:40:11) cterry: Hey, now that I echo'd that 75 into the file.... the SL-C700 locks up ....
(12:40:25) cterry: I get a few minutes of usage prior.. but it seenms to lock and not accept input any more..
(12:40:32) mickeyl: oh dear
(12:40:35) mickeyl: that sucks
(12:41:01) cterry: yes.. dissappointing because it fixed the screen issue nicely.
(12:41:04) mickeyl: try echo 241 >/proc/cccr_change before doing the fastclk thing
(12:44:42) cterry: mickeyl: Ok... right off the bat, the pointer i/o is better
(12:48:48) cterry: mickeyl:  Looking much better.. hasn't locked up yet and with a recalibration.. the pointing is spot on
