Zaurus hangs at power up
« on: August 05, 2004, 07:33:51 am »
I have a Zaurus 5500 that I flashed to Openzaurus 3.3.6-Pre1 with Opie 1.1.4.

Everytime I power up the Zaurus, it hangs. The only way I can get it to power up is to reset the unit first.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I suggest a re-install!

With a lot of searching, I found a post that said to install an older version of hotplug.

That seemed to work a little. The lockups were not as frequent. But they still happened.

I found another post  to install a patched version of sharp_mmcsd_m.o and now it hasn't locked up at all.

mnmis,

where did you find the hotplug driver? I have the same issue with having to reset before the Z will run. I am using a 5500 with a 64-0 rom. I assume you were using 32-0 on your 5000?
