Which is the newer version of Kino2?
« on: August 13, 2004, 10:03:32 am »
I have a saved copy of kino2_0.22_arm.ipk which I downloaded quite some time ago. Today I went to this site's download section to see if there is a newer version. The version there is kino2_0.3_arm.ipk.

Which of these is the newer version? I should think that 2_0.22 is newer than 2_0.3. I find it hard to believe, however, that I have a newer version than the one in ZUG's download section, since ZUG is hosting new Kino2 releases now, as I understand it.

One more thing: I am unable to find Kino2 through the categories in the download section. Only when I enter 'kino2' in the search textbox, do I get a link to a Kino2 .ipk package. Can anyone here find Kino2 through the categories?
Best regards,
bb

I think the convention is to interpret it as version 30 and version 22 as it were.

So .3 is newer.

I hope not. I tried installing the version from ZUG's download section. It was not able to play the AVI files i record from DVD and from my TV card. The version I had already works fine.

I have tried adjusting the settings in the program as they are with the version that works, of course.

Thank you for your answer.

I had the same problem. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any consistency in the codecs that are included with the various Kino2's. I had the same problem with the version that is in Cacko which does not have the appropriate codecs to play ogm files like the previous version I was running with my Sharp ROM.

As you select a Kino2, read the fine print to see which, if any additional codecs have been compiled into the app.
