Bluetooth on X11
« on: December 13, 2003, 10:46:11 pm »
Hi all

Just FYI I have been setting up the X11 rom on my 760 and have found that the bluetooth drivers on the cacko feed don\'t work with my Socket CF card, however, the latest bluez drivers(bluez-zaurus_2.3-2.4.18b_arm.ipk) install and work fine. One small problem is that this package does not generate the full rfcomm.conf file so you will need to copy the following into it once the drivers are installed to:
/etc/bluetooth

# RFCOMM configuration file.
#
# $Id: rfcomm.conf,v 1.1 2002/10/07 05:58:18 maxk Exp $
#

rfcomm0 {
   # Automatically bind the device at startup
   bind no;

   # Bluetooth address of the device
   device \"you\'re devices mac address\";

   # RFCOMM channel for the connection
   channel   1;

   # Description of the connection
   comment \"Example Bluetooth device\";
                    }

I have my own RFCOMM.CONF example file uploaded (direclty ftp\'ed from the Zaurus so no need to worry about dos-unix based conversion) on my site along with other things at http://foxdie.timduru.org/zaurus/

Hi,

I have been using the above package to connect to my gprs phone for some time now and everything seems to be fine, except that every time the Z wakes up from suspend I have to (physically) eject and insert the card. \"hcitool eject/insert\" seems not to be enough. The card is properly recognised as reported by cardctl. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Yup I have that problem too, there is a package that will execute commands before a suspend / resume which you can find here: http://www.cpinkney.org.uk/zaurus.html#susp-resume and here: http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php...ename=Bluetooth

I haven\'t tried this yet but I will do now and update with a reply if it works.

I\'m using a Socket card. It works and I have never heard that it doesn\'t for anyone in the forums. Also nice because it\'s as small as a regular cf card.

Hmmm, according to http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=198 the new versions of that card have a new chipset that doesn\'t work with bluez.  It would be just my luck that I\'d end up with one that has the new chipset.

\"The new Socket CF cards no longer work due to a change in chipset. There is no way to tell from the outside of the package whether the card contains the new chipset. See:
http://socketforum.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1735\"  I couldn\'t reach the forum.

Well the Socket Rev G card does work with BlueZ, but requires some hacking everytime you suspend or reinsert the card.

See this DevNet thread for more:
http://www.zaurus.com/dev/board/index.php?...t,and,bluetooth

You can hack your serial PCMCIA script to automate this, but the hacks you have to do mean they can\'t really be distributed in the BlueZ package.
