I was using Abiword on my SL-C760 with the X11 ROM.
I pushed the \"print\" button
A dialog box was displaid (it was the print dialog box)
my Zaurus shut off
my Zaurus won\'t turn back on
I can\'t flash my Zaurus (I tried removing the battery, pluging into AC, inserting the battery, holding \'Ok\' on the back, then holding the \'on\' button on the back. Nothing happens. The yellow battery light still turns on when I plug it in.
What happend?
How do I fix it?
Help!

just tried that , all ok - no any reaction from Z with lpr out (that ok ) and normal print in PS file which later i can see on desktop PC or send to network printer.

something similar happen to me yesterday with 12/13/03 X11 rom while trying to configure sylpheed for the first time (it actually happened right after finalizing the configuration). I could get the zaurus (C760) to work again, I could start the english service menu, but the Z would power off right after pluging in the AC. I went to bed quite sad :-( This morning I decided it might be a problem with the battery and left it the whole day for charging. All of the sudden I could start the flashing menus tonight and reflashed to NAND, and then installed again X11. Seems to work now :-)
I am probably missing something in this whole story, has this sudden stop of the Z happen to more people?

I\'ve been flashing and restoring various roms and nand backups on my 860 all week to see which I like best.  I\'ve noticed the same sort of thing.  Your try to flash and it just doesn\'t work.  You press the OK and power button and nothing.  Then you try again and again and again with no luck and then again and it works.  Sometimes I\'ve tried restoring the nand backup and it works.

Its funny, the pattern I seem to be seeing is that if you try to flash but you don\'t have a cf or sd card in, it won\'t power on.  Or maybe its something else.  I haven\'t really kept track.  Needless to say - its frustrating.

Hrmpf. I am having the same problem, Zaurus dead. I didnt play with it for maybe 5 days, WLAN-Card inserted, no external power, and now, it wont power on, or remvoing battery and pressing OK+On. Only way to have a \"sign\" is pressing d+b with everything removed and then plugging the cable in. I guess I have to reflash now. Strange.

I just had this problem, but I fixed it by removing the battery and unplugging it from the mains for 5 minutes and then it booted up okay afterwards.

I fixed it on my Zaurus, by taking out the curent battery and putting in a spare, then reflashing.

so what\'s the summary:  always have a full battery when flashing?

I notice that many times my C700 wouldn\'t power on.. and recently my 5600 wouldn\'t power on.

I found that my c700 power supply will not charge the 5600 battery!!!  I do have an external charger --
but that\'s not the issue.  The issue is that I only have 1 5600 charger -- and I have a 700 charger by
my bed and a 760 charger in my office.

I like to plug in the device I\'m using while in bed... but now I see that this will not work for the 5600.
Oh well.  Yet another item in the list of why I like the 7x0 models :-]

ps: ya, and my c700 battery seems to \"drain\" even though the machine is in suspend, etc.
