1 gig SD cards
« on: August 27, 2004, 04:29:38 pm »
I currently have a 512M SD card that works nicely, but am thinking of upgrading to a 1 gig card, just because I'm carrying more and more data around with me.

Anyone tried them?  I'm interested in hearing successes and failures.

I have a sandisk 1Gb that works fine.  I did have one badblock problem (but I was using ext3 and may have overdone things - e2fsck -c? the badblock option fixed things).  Its working fine.

I am using a 1gb KingMax Platinum SD card & upgraded to Cacko ROM a few days later, that was a month ago and have not had any problems.

I'm using a 1GB SD card bought from eastgear.com, I think it's the NCP highspeed (which I also think is a rebadged panasonic), high speed anyway.  Works fine, I had it in vfat, it worked in my tre600, then I stuck it into my c760 and reformatted as ext2.

aside - I bought it for SGD$299, and a few months later they were selling it at COMEX 2004 for SGD$255.  sigh.

I have a Sandisk 1 GB SD card on my SL-C860. No problem with it, but I didn't try to reformat it.
