I have lurked on these forums for a long time learning how to keep my SL-5500 running smooth. It has given me great joy, until now!
I use a multi-voltage car charger that you can reverse polarity on. I use it for both my GPS, and the 5500. I forgot to reverse the polarity and now I have bricked the machine. I have read through every post about this problem through here and have tried everything possible to bring it back to life, with no result.
I am saddened, but I can now get another newer one. My SL-5500 with the cradle is now up for sale to the highest bidder. I will give it until this Monday....please send your bids to me at jspencer38@cox.net.
