It has been speculated that this was a preproduction unit and that there is a good chance that production units will be locked like the 4gb muvo's.
Apparently, both Creative and Seagate reps have stated that you will not be able to use the drives in cameras, etc..
So I guess we all may have to wait for the Seagate barebone drive to be released, presumably in Q4.
