Links Text-Based Browser Problems
« on: September 07, 2004, 07:14:17 pm »
I have an SL-5500 with standard Sharp rom 3.13.

I have installed "links-ssl" text based web browser, and the required library file "libssl0.9.6".
When I go into Terminal and run "links" I get the following error message:

links: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.6: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory

I assume there must be a config file somewhere that needs editing, but I am not having any luck finding it.

I tried "links-nossl" and it works perfect on the internet, with the exception that it will not pass along username/password information to websites.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Doug

Where has libssl.so.0.9.6 been put? There's no config file as such, it probably just can't find it in the path. By default /usr/lib is always searched, so it's best to put it there.
