KDE-Pim/Pi 1.9.4 Release

I get the error, when installing kmicrokdelibs:

"This package seems to depend on other packages- please install them too."

I'm on a stock Sharp 3.13 ROM.  Nonetheless, everything seems to install and launch alright. . . (after installing libssl, per Zuber's post).
That is actually not an error - that's simply true!

You will find the explanation  in KO/Pi menu: Help - What's new:

If you get a
"This application depends on other programs"
during installation of
--kmicrokdelibs_1.9.2_arm.ipk
you probably do not have to care about that.
kmicrokdelibs_1.9.2 will come with some
resource plugins, which needs additional libraries.
(E.g. libopie1, if you want to use the
opie resource connector in KA/Pi).
If you do not have this libraries installed,
you simply cannot use the resource.
To make it clear:
If the libraries are missing, the applications
using kmicrokdelibs will start,
because the resources are plugins.

SYNC HANDLING HAS CHANGED! Such that, if you sync now with an already synded device, you will duplicated entries after the first sync.

This sounds a bit scary to me. Does this mean when I sync to my laptop twice a have 2 squash appointments on the same time? I don't think I am that much into sports...

Been using KO/PI & KO/PA since they came out, now using version 1.9.3 as it's the best PIM software available for the Zaurus.

Looks as if I will have to stop using KDE-Pim if it is going to duplicate entries, pity.

Sorry, my words may be confusing.
I have changed the text:

SYNC DATA STORAGE HAS CHANGED!
If you have synced already with version 1.9.3, you will get duplicated entries after the first sync, because the syncing of version 1.9.3 is not detected.
After another sync the behaviour should be as expected when syncing.
SOLUTION:
If you have already synced with 1.9.3, please remove duplicate entries on one of the devices before the first sync. After the first sync, you will have the same data on both devices again.
And syncing should work as usual.( I.e. no entries are duplicated ).

I wrote not, that you get duplicated entries!

I wrote, that you get duplicated entries AFTER THE FIRST SYNC, if you have already synced.

Hi zautrix,
you asked for testing and results.
Well, here are some, about the best Pim-apps available.
KO/PI:
start-up seems to be a bit slow, compared to its predecessors, nothing to complain besides that.
KA/PI
now and than a popup appears
Quote
Question
File resource '/home/zaurus/kdepim/apps/kabc/std.vcf '
has been changed by third party.
Do you want to reload?
[Yes]     [No]

it reappears/blinks/flickers and won't let me enter my choice for several tries.
I couldn't figure out yet, which circumstances lead to this behaviour. I know, that it appears, when you touch the file but then it just asks once and disappears peacefully after accepting my answer.
The above now happened three times, since i installed v. 1.9.4

another small complaint is, that the search field keeps it's contents even after an entry is picked so you have to clear it deliberately for another search.

Ii think it would add a lot of usability if you could use the arrow-buttons to browse the resultset of a search.

and finally, the menue-button doesn't work.

OM/PI
works great so far, i just miss a button/menu-item to expicitly fetch mail from a specified account.
It seems as if OM/PI allways looks for all accounts for every piece of mail within reach.

These are my first impressions and though it reads as though i'm complaining a lot,  it's not!
I really like these apps and use them a lot. Thanks to your effords, the Z can beat  most PDA even in the PIM disciplins.

Thank you, Zuber, for your help!

I have already fixed the search for all views: Now only matching items are displayed in the view.
That make ist actually really useable!

That's strange.
I will look at this.

I agree, the usage of OM/Pi is a bit strange.
I have to think about a useful solution.

Thank you for your comments!
Such comments are needed to make the apps more userfriendly and bugfree.

What menue button?
I meant the hardware-button next to OK on the C7xx device, which normally invokes the menu in every app that has one (works with KO/PI)

i just realized, that the menu-button-thing applies to OM/PI too.

Oh, and another thing, i actually had allready with v.1.9.3.
The file menu is so touchy, i have to use mac-style to pick the right entry.

To correct the phrase 'Build it and they will come'....

'Post the ScreenShots and they will download'

...come on... it's obligatory and there's only one on the site at the moment.
