USB Network down after 15 sec
« on: September 10, 2004, 09:46:40 am »
Hi all,

I have a little problem with the USB Network AND my Zaurus 5500 running
OZ 3.3.6 while syncing with QTopiaDesktop on my XP box. When I put the Z
in the cradle it is up for 15 to 20 sec then I have to remove it, wait a
few sec then replace it into the cradle and it is up again for 15 sec.

What is wrong, is there something to do ?

Regards,
Francois.

Hi!

Such a problem I didn't have yet.

I had problems with syncing Z and Outlook, and that the connection between Z and W2k gets lost after several hours (see other posts below).

Getting disrupted after 15-20 secs sounds very strange. Maybe personal firewall disrupts connection? Maybe re-installing the drivers on XP box helps. Did you try one of these already?

Hi,

yes I have tried reinstalling driver and shut down my firewall but still the same.

From the network window, I can see that the connection is enabled. But I can olnly ping the usb craddle and not the Z (time out). If I remove/replace the Z I can ping it but for only a few sec.

Hope this may help to find a solution   .

There is another USB problem described here:

As written in this thread, you could try "ipkg install usbd-common". Maybe this fixes your USB problem, too.
