What's the point in different flavours of ice-cream?

ooh, another note - I've uploaded the GPE feed on my site as well - But only as archives - I'd prefer for people to use the official OZ feed of course, which will be updated shortly, but for those who can't wait for some GPE goodness and have broadband connections, you can download the feeds from the following links

Apps - http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~cil103/pub/feed/apps.tar.bz2
Development packages - http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~cil103/pub/feed/dev.tar.bz2
Docs - http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~cil103/pub/feed/docs.tar.bz2
Locale data - http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~cil103/pub/feed/locale.tar.bz2

I really like the GPE screenshots, and am seriously considering giving it a go. I just have a few concerns.

A) I must admit that I am not enamoured of the Opie-PIMs, but I have a large address collection in my opie-addressbook. Will the data work with the GPE pims?

Does GPE have a decent voice recorder ?

C) Are there any plans for GPE to support my IR keyboard ?

Erm, they taste different.  So perhaps you could explain the difference in taste to me.

You have to try them for yourself, see which you like best :)

leland:

A) If you synchronise with multisync on the desktop, you can then use the gpe multisync plug-in to synchronise back to the GPE PIM apps.

B) Yes, but I don't know if it works on the Zaurus or not - it's called gpe-soundbite

C) It may be supported already, you should check out irk if it's in the OZ feed - I'll look into this in the future though, but not that inclined to at the moment, given I don't have an infra-red keyboard

Yes I guess I will!  I've used the pdaXrom up to now and have decided that it's perhaps a little too experimental for my use of the Z as a PDA as well as a Linux curiosity, so will try the GPE release when it comes out.
