tkcrom, cl750, possible brick? point me to a zimage please

Hi,

Alittle help if you would guys, please.

A friend tried flashing his zaurus with the tkcrom on his 750.

He was waiting for a kernel file to be posted, but no links arrived. Having read a post from proto saying that you can use any sharp kernel, he misinterepreted this to be ANY sharp kernel and used the sl5500 one.

Now this is probably not what proto meant, but it is done now and realy needs undoing if possible.

Sadly it will not boot, and the dm menu no longer seems to work to restore his nand backup that he took prior to flashing.

The flash menu still appears to work, so I presume if he re-flashes with a cl750 kernel and the proto intrd.bin/update.sh then it should work.

Hence the question, where I can I get a kernel file? tried cackos site and after downloading the uk cl750 rom zip file, which took ages due it it being a slow link from there, found that it only had the initrd.bin and update sh.

failing that, it still charges the battery so could make an expensive, but attractive battery charger.

Just try to put the cacko-file tools.tar and the tKc-Files(2.2.1) initrd.bin and updater.sh onto the CF or SD Card.
Start Flash Menu (OK + Power On) and select item 4 to flash.
When the cacko Installer Menu appears select item 5 (Repair ...) and enter 37 (MB). After the reboot, if the C750 is doing (if not -] hard reset) Start again the Flash Menu and select now item 1 for the Installation. !!!
The result should be the Cacko Kernel and the tKc-ROM2.2.1. After that even the DM Service Menu should work again so that a backstep to SharpROM should be possible !

I will not be able to try this until tomorrow, it is not my zaurus (wish it was I have a 5500) I have been searching the web, and found this

this is the sukoshi 750 kernel, based on the sharp rom.

I was going to flash this as zimage, with the tkc initrd.bin and update.sh.

Where is the tools.tar file?  I have searched http://www.cacko.biz/ but cannot find it.

How does the zaurus know that tools.zip is a kernel? I thought it had to be called zimage.bin.

I have also found (on this site, should have looked harder I guess) the cacko cl7x0 1.18 rom with a zimage file.

there is no tools.tar file though.

While I remember I will add in that this 750 was the stock, default rom that it shipped with.  no others roms have been applied.

I found the tools.tar, it was in the x11 rom package.

He now has a working zaurus again so is much relived, I am happy too as I got to hold a 750.
