Kanji Nirvana 1.30 Crash
« on: September 27, 2004, 04:07:07 pm »
Hi !!!
I have a C860 with the Sharp ROM.
I am learning kanji with the book "Remembering the Kanji". While I'm advancing in my learning, I copy all the kanji with Hancomword in a .doc...
Then I copy past them in Kanji Nirvana to have a Quiz with all the kanji I have done.

But here I have a problem. For the Quiz I get the english meaning and I must found the kanji, sometimes I don't get anyway english meaning and when I do SHOW
it just CRASH
here is a little Screenshot

Thanks !!!

I'm currently working on a new quiz program based off of the quiz portion of KanjiNirvana. It is an almost total rewrite of the original KN code. With any luck I can get a release out very soon.

Actually, the source for my program is currently available in the KanjiNirvana (NihongoNirvana) SourceForge CVS, but it's not up-to-date; I've been rather bad about updates, partly because I haven't found a CVS GUI for OS X yet that I like.

Ok, I managed to clean-up the CVS. If you want to take a look at the latest source, you can find it in the repository for NihongoNirvana, module name kani/knquiz.

I am temporarily making an ipk of version 0.5 available here (EDIT: now located on SourceForge; see below). I hope to eventually release ipks on the SourceForge site, but I don't have Admin access to do it myself.

The program uses study lists stored as UTF-8 text files (with .knq extension). The ipk installs some example quiz files in /home/zaurus/Documents/Quiz_Files.

Note that the program still contains bugs (many gui related). Even so, it is quite useable.

I appreciate any comments/suggestions/etc. I would especially like to hear from someone using a 5x00 device, as I only have a C760.

Ok, I've received Admin rights to the NihongoNirvana SourceForge page, and have released knQuiz 0.5 there. A source archive is also available for download.
