How to get a proper german environment?
« on: September 30, 2004, 03:39:24 pm »
Hi there!

I have some names with german umlauts in my addressbook, and they don't display properly. They are shown on the console and I have installed quite some stuff I thought that might help, like opie-i18n-de or so... am I missing something? I can't choose german language in the system tab as well, what should I install to get that? Thanks for any help

Oh yeah, I'm using 3.5.1.

Cheers
Philipp

How to get a proper german environment?

Hi,

I'm just trying to get a German layout hardware keyboard first.

In OZ 3.5.1 a keyboard applet seems to be ready integrated - but if I switch from EN to DE - nothing happens. If I install zkbapplet, the keyboard switches to German - not problem, but I have two DE applets in the taskbar - not very usefull - or pretty.

Can someone help?

TIA
Daniel

PS: On my "out-of-the-box" OZ 3.5.1 with opie-i18n-de installed, the German Umlauts are displayed correctly in the addressbook.
