Lexar 1GB SD for $32.49 (US) shipped
« on: October 09, 2004, 09:54:00 am »
Slickdeals has a post about the Lexar 1GB SD for $32.49, it's here.  I just ordered one, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

It looks like they probably made a mistake, since this card usually goes for over $100.

I just ordered one too.  We'll see how it goes...  A great deal if I don't get screwed over.

Hate to burst anyones bubble...but word has it this deal is dead and all orders will be cancelled.  The item never even went out of stock even though it was posted everywhere and people were buy tons of them (no real-time inventory).

So it was very likely a price mistake (the price on other items at this site aren't very amazing, which does not bode well).  And even if price was "for real", there is no way they have the stock to fill all the orders.

NEWEGG has got a 1GB for $80 shipped (this weekend's "special"....60x card, see my other post), but that is a heck of alot more than $32+ for the Lexar (which is a great brand).

Perhaps some people will get lucky, but I am doubting it.  Hopefully I am wrong.

Good Luck.

I ordered one yesterday and received a confirmation email at the $32.00 price. I checked the order status online and it says "order sent to warehouse". Hopefully it won't get cancelled.

If you check the Chumbo link now the price for the card is $106.49.

I note that Lexar 1GB SD cards are really falling in value now, generally, as they only list the newer high-speed cards on the lexar website at this capacity.

If you really want 1GB card, and don't want to wait for the high speed cards to come down in price, now's a good time to jump.

Here in the UK, the best prices on 1GB SD cards are from www.aria.co.uk (sandisk for 50 poiunds inc tax) or www.ebuyer.com (55 pounds inc).

Well, probably not.  I use one in my digital camera all the time, and the other with my Z.  I am thinking about selling my 256MB SD card, as soon as I'm sure my new 1GB card won't give me problems.

512MB CF cards are getting pretty cheap.  I got my Kingston card for about $70 from newegg a couple months ago, while my SimpleTech card was over $150 just last year.

Oh, if you were asking about my wifi or lan card, I like them too much to part with either, sorry.
