XMMS problems
« on: October 23, 2004, 01:40:11 am »
I am trying to install XMMS-E. It used to work on my Z but I have not used it in a while, went to use it this evening, and it won't play. Tried re-installing it, and now I get this error message

Anyone know a quick and easy fix to this. The reason I say quick and easy is because I have a flight in the morning, and I really want to use the Z as an MP3 player, and don't have a lot of time in the morning. Also, are there any XMMS alternatives that are easy to use and quick to install?

Thanks in advance

p.s.   I just figured something out, OZ doesn't have that feed up anymore. They just released 3.5.1 and my Z still refers to the old stable feed "/official/stable/feed" Does anyone know where they moved this to?

Thanks again

It has gone (as it's not supported anymore - lots of discussion about what to support on the mailing list at the mo), though I think someone was offering a mirror of it.

You could try grabbing the package from the 3.5.1 feed, though I don't know whether it'd work.

Looking at the time... I would suppose it's too late to help put music on your flight. For the return flight I could attach the libmadxxx.ipk here... let me know.

@lardman or any of the moderators
(you may want to move this to Open Zaurus)

After reading the many emails on the OZ mailing list about the legality of the mirroring of the old OZ versions... can we still attach an old OZ ipk here with out legal issues?
