Need a 860 v1.4 Japanese NAND backup
« on: November 04, 2004, 02:25:29 pm »
Hi all,

I've been playing with my new 860, and I messed up a little. Now I need the original 860 Nand backup (Japanese 1.4 Sharp Version), and the only place on the net that seems to host it is conics, and their support page is down.

Is there anybody who has one of these images kicking around?

Thanks!

You can find a nand backup of version 1.4JP on the site of TriSoft:

Do you really need a NAND?

Unless you have really screwed things up, reflashing the ROM is much faster and less likely to turn your Z into a brick.

The ROM update is available at http://support.ezaurus.com/sl-c860/update/...0updatecard.asp

Lost the dictionary files through a hard reset without having a backup, don't have my CD for the 860, couldn't seem to install them from the japanese support ipks floating around (Not sure if that's what they're for), tried to do a Nand-restore from one I downloaded and found that it was post-conversion instead of a raw 1.40jp image.

Gave up on it, installed the 1.10jp Nand restore, backed up the dictionary file, Upgraded to the 1.40jp rom from Sharp's page, ran Stubear's conversion script, then dumped my own backup nand image.

Ugh.

Teaches me. Should have done a nand backup the instant I turned the bloody thing on, but Noooo.

*Sigh*
