battery interoperability
« on: November 11, 2004, 12:52:50 pm »
So, I _think_ I have a bad battery for my c750. I do not have the money to buy a new one and find out that this is not my problem.

In anycase, I would like to know which units have the "same" battery. I found this:
http://www.mobileplanet.com/product.asp?ca...50306&listing=1

Which suggests that the 5500 and the c7x0 series might have the same one (though the unit might be suited  to handle more than one type of battery... so that is more a hope, than anything else.).

Both the C750 and the 5500 use the EA-BL06 battery.

If you buy the EA-BL08K for the C750 (I have one) you get a bigger battery and cover that's used in the C760 and C860.

I've got an 860 and regularly use my old sl 5500 batteries in it whenever my larger batter runs dry.  Be forewarned though, that the life of the charge is dismal compared to the proper larger battery.  I can leave my 860 playing music for about 8-10 hours as a guess at least, but with my 5500 battery that is halved.  With the screen on you will want to put the brightness to lowest to get anything reasonable.
