Sound to IR Remote
« on: November 19, 2004, 02:10:57 pm »
Anyone intrested in helping me write a fork for opie-remote to record "ir-sounds" and play them  back for a very universal remote. I am thinking it may not even need opie remote just a gui with a way to record an then link bottons to the .mp3 files to play the ir code. Or has someone done this already?
Yes I saw the ipod/ppc verison of this using total remote over at engadget but I want it on my Z!

Re: "Fork" - is there any particular reason why you want to work against the Opie team and not together with it? Like, don't we accept patches or what?

Sorry wrong term to use I suppose. I wasnt suggestion working against the opie team at all. I was just thinking of  using opie-remote code and modifing it to pipe ir codes to the headphone jack.

Nevermind then. I have become pretty sensible to unnecessary forks (see a couple of threads in this forum...) - especially because we gladly accept any useful patches.
