cotrol cacko with usb mouse
« on: December 28, 2003, 03:05:49 pm »
hello !

i am owner of a interpocket usb host cf card.
i´d like to use it with a usb mouse on my zaurus.
i´ve already been on:

http://www.linux-usb.org/USB-guide/x194.html

where´s a good description of how to use usb with linux.

i came to the point, where i can see weird letters on the terminal window when i move the mouse - so far so good but the problem is:

they tell to edit the XF86Config file (usually /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config),

which do not exist on the Z. at least not as this filename

can anybody help me ?

greetings ollie

cd to /etc/X11 (don\'t forget that it is case sensative!) and enter ls as a command.

That will list everything in that directory frequently it will be /etc/X11/XF86Config-# where \"#\" is a number.  In Mandrake linux, it\'s /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

It just occured to me that the \'86\' in the file name refers to the x86 processor arxitechture, so the config file in the cacko rom may well have a totaly different filename, I guess you\'re gonna need sash\'s help on this one.

Has anyone actually done this?

I have a USB mouse and (at last!) a working USB host. I've created /dev/input/mice and, by CATting to STDOUT, can see data coming in from the mouse.

I'm able to use my usb mouse with gpm now (pdaxrom rc9.1), and I want more!
Hope, that TinyX' mouse support comes soon.
