Picsel Browser
« on: November 24, 2004, 08:32:57 am »
Has anyone purchased or used this new application for the Zaurus 3000/860/760/750? It appears to be a browser application that includes its own applications for different file formats ranging from Word to Excel.
I'm thinking of buying it, so I would enjoy hearing a review from anyone who has previously used this program. Check the url below for a description of the program, including a link to the PDF file instruction manual which includes screenshots.

I think it's included in the SLC 3000. Wait for somebody to create a .ipk, then evaluate it and buy it if you like it. I must admit qpdf2 is not exactly what I'd expect and accept.

A friend of mine works at Picsel in Japan and he showed me the browser running on a PocketPC back in 2002. It really blew me away because you could seamlessly zoom in and out of a webpage, really smooth - just like a vector image. I'm not sure if i like the menu system too much though....

I used Picsel Browser on my Sigmarion III and would love to have a copy for the Z6K. It is a great product and would replace the Opera/Qdpf2 pair nicley.
Anyone know where I can get it?

TIA

Buy it on :

The only problem is it leaves on its own SD. IMHO they should sell it on other sizes (say 2 Gb SD) so that you can use the rest of the card for your own stuff. I'd consider purchasing it if it could perform better than the available pdf readers *and* live on a big SD - even if that requires a little hack

It looks like a very nice piece of software, but at approx. $126 USD I'll have to pass for now.  If I could edit all those formats that would be different, but it is only a viewer.

My 10 cents.
