What Are Various Directories In Download Section
« on: December 01, 2004, 08:28:48 pm »
I may have missed something, but.. what are all the various directories in the feed section?

base, console, devel, e, gnome, gpe, libs, opie, unknown, x

Is this just a sub-dividing the long list of packages? I presume I can install from any of the directories, but if I load opie then can I install from all but gpe and visa-versa?  And what about "x" can I install from there?

If you look in a Packages file (or a control file) you'll see a field named 'section', this is what the directories refer to (and yes it has been done as the feed is pretty bloody large so it makes sense to break it up into chunks).

x is probably x, so no you won't be able to with Opie (look at what's in there and decide).
