This is my first post... I have been lurking here for a while....

I own a computer business in Mexico... Figuring that the $379 Z was at a hot price I ordered 8 from Amazon (for resale). They were split into two orders of 4 each. Apparantly Amazon had a max order total of 4. Well after seeing that the Z's were for $300 from this jpettins guy, I cancelled my order with amazon and ordered 8 Z's from jpettins.

This happened on Dec. 1st. Have not seen anything as of today, and I am out over $2440!!!!

This is the first time that I have been scammed, it sux. At least you guys that only ordered 1 at $306, should feel a little better knowing that I lost 8 times the amount of $.

Sorry to hear that milo--you have my sympathies...especially since you already had the legit Z6K's on order.

So jpettins made off pretty big. How much? 18 from offroadgeek's tally, 1 from taronish, 3 Alloutte+son, and now 8 from milo617.

That's 30*$300=$9000 plus probably a whole lot more we don't know about. Not bad for a couple days "work"

Amazon really ought to go buy you 6ks and give 'em to you for $79--since they redirected you on their page to this fraud. ANy hope of doing some int'l law thing?

Was on the phone with Amazon support. They said that the seller had "issues" and asked me to contact them on the 9th to process their A to Z guarantee.
The delivery estimate was between Dec 9th and 23rd. So it seems that at least it might be possible to get back the money fairly soon.

I was just on the phone with an Amazon customer rep. This nice Indian lady promised to refund the money if I wait till the 12th and also gave a $10 certificate for my troubles. I will wait till the 12th and if they don't refund the money, I will contact my credit card company.

an indian guy promised me an immediate 50% back two days ago.
I won't see it.
I haven't seen it.
I called my bank.

I thought this guy might be scamming too, so I dropped a line.
BUt I gotta wonder.... how would he know that the fla 3oo z guy got "arrested"?

I don't think pettins was a zugger. I think the Fla vendor of z's for 300 might be the same scammer as pettins. But I think pettins was pretty simple.... looking at hes dec. 2nd listings he had a bunch o stuff in the 300 range. he moved it till amazon cut him off.. and he split.. by evening iof the 3rd.
The NY vendor who knew our thead might wee be someone who reads inhere, but my guess..afte I last posted, was that he assumed that pettins had been busted from a cursory reading of the thread.. You are right that pettins almost certainly CAN't have been busted yet...and probably won't ever be....
There was no need for pettins to string us along. he just answered his mail for 1 day and then left... It just seemed worse to us.

I was hoping to do a power book thing too .. maybe I spooked the 3000 fla selller??

I'll keep at it. anyone else with free time should too. Just be sure to use a yahoo or hotmail address (one of the reason's isuspect the guy above) and fake info to ave yourself the risk of identity theft in your dealings.
