Abiword is included - Gnumeric isn't preinstalled due to its huge size - but it works if you install it.

My experience was that gnumeric's size was because of it's large documentation.
Maybe you could make an extra package for the documentation?

- Support for the CE-RH1 remote control
Was it implemented through xkeymouse (or similar tool) or just by keymapping? First way is more preferable, because it solves screen-should-be-off-while-Z-is-in-the-pocket problem (by writing a simple script) and doesn't need keeping input focus on xmms' window.

Now my all-time question : will Ratoc USB Host drivers work again or it is possible only with a VFPless ROM?

Why oh why must they torture us like this?!?!

$50 says sash completed the rom yesterday and they just want to see how anxious we get

On a serious note, I'd like to suggest that for everyone who is axiously awaiting this new version, when you download it make a quick donation of at least $10 (or more if you can).  Just to show how much we appreciate their work.

He he .. Im on my way to bed now - been a long weekend (like 10 hours of sleep) ..

But i hate to be the carrier of bad news but a series of problems has arisen, but i have taken the day of from work tomorrow and will dedicate the entire day tomorrow and night to getting the last couple of bugs sorted out - so at the latest it will be out in morning of the 7.12.2004 (CET)

I know we promised it this weekend but we wan't to make as much as possible fixed before we release and we wan't the new details to blow you away - like the ability to configure what most of the keys do and how to configure right click and middle click button - so everybody can get the perfect setup without too much hassle - so basically the next 24 hours will be spend bughunting and giving eveything the last finishing touches.

I hope you can wait until then - if not feel free to donate or click banners while you waiting..

Once again i appologize on behalf of the entire pdaXrom team who are dedicated to bringing you the latest and greatest for your Zaurus :-)

Very excited!  But not so excited that I can't wait for the new release to be "polished".  Is there (or will there be) a full changelog for the updates/fixes/additions for this release?  As anxious to read this as I am to play with the new rc.

Yes we are expecting the next RC to be available this weekend together with SDK etc.
This is what I really hate. Don't tell me deadlines. I don't mind if you don't release it for another 2 months but don't tell me you do. Tell me when it's done.

You know that if you say "this weekend", people don't think about sunday 23:59:59...
They think "ok, then I will be able to reflash it in the weekend, I don't go out then", etc.

So, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but then don't hurt mine. It's pretty disappointing to wait for something then you always get a "later".

An alternative (not for the weekend thing, rather for the long releasing periods and the many unpatient user): Make a CVS or something alike, then everybody can check out the stuff if one is really eager to use it.

But don't tell untruths.
Thanks,
   Zumi

EDIT: I haven't seen Laze's post, because I forgot to refresh before posting. The point stays the same: try to be a bit more precise in the releases and a bit less "user friendly" (hey, it's an RC, not a final). Zumi

so we should anxiously hit the ad banners when we reload

seriously, I agree with Zumi.
It was very nice of you to let us know about next release date, but it shouldn't tie you up like this.

Having a CVS would be nice, so we can live on the bleeding edge if we would like to, but it's not a strong MUST, as everyone does not have a spare C760
#I don't, and it's not something you can make off the shelf, like a PC.

Anyway, you guys are doing a great work.
Thank you.

As much as I love joking with the guys and posting notes about them torturing us... I think you need a reality check.

These guys are doing all of this work as volunteers.  They had high hopes of releasing it this weekend, but don't want to release crap and bugs, so they've decided to wait for a solid release.

How can your feelings get hurt from this?  I actually appreciate it when they give 'estimates' for a release date.

If you were actually paying sash for his full time work on the pdaxrom project, then that would be another story...
