Sl6000 Sdio?
« on: December 03, 2004, 05:48:02 am »
Looking at Toshiba's site, the SD card interface on the tc6393xb chip in the SL6000 supports SDIO cards - anyone know if Sharp actually implemented this?

I wish they had, but unfortunately no. I don't know the details, but it has to do with the open source nature of Linux vs. the "proprietary" SDIO.

I believe this topic has been discussed in other threads in greater details.

Natively, no the support isn't there, but the hardware may have been set up to allow SDIO, that has turned out to be the case with the c860, there are no drivers, but the hardware is functional. There is a SD wifi solution floating around here that has had a sdio driver coded for it.

Unfortunately it may be hit or miss, as Sharp didn't even connect the sdio line in the 5x00 series, not sure about earlier clamshells tho.

With SDIO cards becoming cheaper, this is an interesting possibility... Does anyone know if this is being worked on?

Thanks in advance.
