Are there any PDF and CHM reader out there for OZ (OPIE) 3.5.2 ?
I tried qpdf2 but no luck.
It complained about missing qpe-base (1.5.0)
I can't find on the feed.

Ignore this (use --force-depends).

Not sure whether it works though...

Use compact lib to open it, which is in the feed.
But I got another question.
Opening through oz-compact is pretty slow.....and...
Some of the libraries also require qpe-base to run, like libsdl which is for SNES9X and all sorts of emulators......
Is there any way to solve w/out using compact-lib?

compact-lib

compact-lib is actually compat-lib as in compatibility.

This lib is required, not to eliminate the qpe-base dependency, but to translate the name mangling between the old GCC2.xx apps and the new GCC 3.xx libs which Opie uses.

You cannot get around using this unless you recompile the apps with GCC3.xx.

The qpe-base dependency is there as the control files were written for the Sharp ROM (which has a qpe-base) rather than Opie (which has the same stuff in opie-base - is that name correct? irc)

I see
Thanks for the explanation
Zaurus is too hard for a double-click guy (window guy) to use.....
OZ-compact seems the only way to do so.........except compiling another one.....

And I have another question
For the compact libraries, how can I apply it to files and libraries
After opening oz-compact libraries, I have an option of choosing  either list or file
I chose the file and it said " Enter file name",
Do I enter the path+name  of the file or just simply enter the file name?

Thanks

compat!!!!! not compact - different meanings! :-)

Yes, if you choose file then enter the full path to the binary/executable; list is easier as it gives you a list of all the things installed (after you've run ipkg-link if needs be) which might need to be used with the compat libs, then you just choose one and it does the rest.

You don't need to use the compat-libs for documents, just executables.

LOL
So, if some of the libraries require qpe-base, should I use oz-compat
or just in the executable programs.?
