SR: Sega Genesis/Megadrive Emulator (but not yet!)
« on: January 01, 2004, 07:50:12 pm »
I can not say too much, I don\'t know what Sashz and the Cacko team want to keep a secret until it is released..

All I can say is there is something COOL for the X11 ROM in the works and that it will unlock many doors.

AFTER this \"COOL\" thing has been released, it would be great to have a Sega Genesis / Megadrive emulator that takes full advantage of the Zaurus.

The Zaurus has the potential to be a kick ass gaming machine if the code is right. We have a couple of games already for the X11 ROM like Tuxpuck and XMahjonng but I\'m sorry guys they are good but not THAT good.

I think a Genesis emulator would work wonders. Now I think about it, I used to love playing the old Sonic games. I grew up on them

So here is what the emulator must achieve:

1. It must work without any sprite / frame skips.
2. The audio must work and must not slow the game down.
3. It has to use the entire 640x480 screen
4. We must be able to choose what keys we use for the emulator.
5. It must survive a suspend / resume.
6. Not essential but a game state save / load would be useful

I\'m greedy aren\'t I? I\'m just suggesting things though

I dunno, I think a more useful emulator would be Dosbox or QEMU (you can run WINE under QEMU, and then
run windows stuff).
