Opie 3.5.2 Mplayer

Can someone list how they got mplayer working in 3.5.2.
I got it installed, but when I try to play a small file it give me the first few frames and that's it.  Also it won't handle .avi files, only mpegs.

seems to work...

just backup the old extract mplayer from the above file (ar then tar) and replace it

thanks I followed the steps.  Now I just get a black screen whereas before xmms wouldn't play the format.  I tired with both .avi and mpegs to no avail.  
Any other suggestions?
 I'm willing to give em a spin.

AAAhhhh missed an obvious question ......which version of zaurus do yo have ......

This works on a 5500

If yours isnt youll have to recompile mplayer with the setting in the older version.

(im currently working on this )

or ill strace mplayer and list all of the libs etc that it is using it maybe that I have an old one that survived the upgrade.



Did you reboot the zaurus after installing mplayer ? I was forced to by a wireless crash .....
