Problems Installing Ipkg
« on: December 18, 2004, 03:50:42 pm »
I have SL-5500, and ive been trying to install opie player2 on it.  First i tried installing it through the add/remove software and but it wasn't there.  Then i tried installing it in terminal, but it said 'zcat: opie-mediaplayer2_1.0.3_arm.ipk: not in gzip format', and gave me other errors like could not extract.  Ive been trying to install it but it just wont work.

I also tried installing other programs, like libopie and vlc, but still it doesn't work.

Please help me,

ABM

I know what you mean. The software or hardware has a problem dealing with some programs. It could also be the version you downloaded that doesn't work. Do a search for the same file and see if it fixes the problem.
